Birthday Girls

My Little Beauty Queens!

Since the girls have birthdays August 15 (Katlyn) and October 14 (Taylor), we do pictures to cover both Mid-September.  Taylor will turn 2 on Friday.  Can't believe how the time has passed so quickly.  She is quite the little entertainer, she gets that from Big Sister.  They both LOVE a little attention (okay a LOT of attention)!

What's Katlyn doing these days?  Glad you ask, she is busy with Church, homework, dance, and a few chores every now and then.  She claims she is toooooo busy for chores but I disagree.  Her 1st Six Weeks of school went very well-all A's!  Next weekend, she dances for the 1st time with her Dance Team at the Catfish Festival.  She is very excited.  We are proud of her to say the least, she is a fantastic young lady and awesome Big Sister.  Even with her busy schedule she always finds time to LOVE on Baby Sister which is so sweet.

Taylor?  Well where to begin....  She is a ball on energy.  She is our little sponge, very interested in learning new things.  She talks like she is FIVE.  Knows her ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle, Jesus Loves Me and He Reigns!  She can tell you exactly what she wants, when she wants it.  Today, we were walking in Home Depot and she said "Look Mommy, Mercan Flag" (American Flag is what she was trying to say).  Me and Al just looked at each other like where did she learn that.  Of course, Dad took the credit and said yeah I have told her that before....  She is also a contestant on Katlyn's home version of Toddlers & Tiaras.  Katlyn has a whole routine that she has taught Taylor from kicking her legs, shaking her booty and blowing kisses to her make believe audience.

A new journey for our family started a couple of months ago. Al & I have started teaching 5th/6th Graders on Sundays at Church.  What a wonderful experience it has been so far.  We are truly BLESSED and THANKFUL to have an amazing Church to go to.  GOD is GREAT!!!

Lots of Love from our family to yours!

Summer 2011

We have had a fantastic summer, I can't believe it is already coming to an end.  We kicked off summer with Katlyn's Dance Recital which she received an award for Dedication.  Katlyn also tryed out for the 2011-2012 Danzco Dance Team and made it.  She has worked extremely hard and we can't wait to see what joy she will bring to us next season with her dancing.

No big vacations this year, just a couple of little ones.  We went with some friends to Sea World for a couple of days, did a little camping and a whole lot of swimming.

Katlyn went on a journey this summer to Dry Gulch, USA in Oklahoma for Church Camp.  That was very hard for all of us, we have never been away from her for more than two days.  Katlyn had a fantastic time but needless to say she is NOT going back next year unless we all join her.  She and Taylor missed each other soooo much.  And for a few weeks after when we would pull in the church parking lot Taylor would tell her Sissy NO CAMP!  By the way she missed us like crazy too....

Hunter celebrated his 1st Birthday on July 24th.  What a blessing he has been to our family.  Matthew celebrated his 16th Birthday today!  Crazy how fast they grow.  And Katlyn will turn 11 on Monday.

Here is a glimpse of the highlights of our summer

Until next time, Sweet Blessings to all!

Happy 60th Birthday, PEPAW!!!!

We spent Memorial weekend camping at Yogi Bear Park, we also celebrated Pepaw's 60th Birthday.  Saturday, we surprised Dad with a small birthday celebration.  Mom had to get him to leave for a little while so we could pull it all together.  With the great help from family and friends, I think we put together a nice little surprise party for him.  Dad doesn't like attention on him but once the surprise was over, he enjoyed his day.  We had shirts made for all the grandkids that said "Pepaw's Favortie", I would bet that was his BEST GIFT!  He is a proud "Pepaw"!

Pepaw and Memaw with there "FAVORITES"!

This is HANK, Taylor's bestfriend.  He is absolutely precious and we love him to pieces.

Dad with me, Michelle and George - some great looking kids you got there Pepaw.

Taylor-She is her Momma's child always making sure the area is kept nice and tiddy.

So...  I am not the best blogger on the block, random events from the month of May.

Happy Mother's Day! What a joy being a "Mommy" to my fantastic kiddos.

Memaw with Katlyn and Taylor on Mother's Day.

Matthew and Hunter protesting a picture but they still look so handsome.

Taylor wearing her Big Sissy's shoes.  She loves to put on Katlyn's shoes and walk around the house.

Family Night with "Mother's of Montgomery".  We enjoyed a family picnic at the park with friends last Friday evening.  Katlyn gained another "Fan", little Miss Abigail (she is in the middle with her hands up).  Taylor played in the sand for the first time and she loved it.  These babies are so good, look how we got them all to sit down and look at the camera.  HAHA!!!  I only took 10 pics to get a decent one.

Katlyn's 5th Grade Awards, we are so proud of her.  She received the AB Honor Roll Award, AR Achievement, 3rd Place in UIL Oral Reading and Commended Performance on all of her TAKS testing.  She worked really hard this year.

Katlyn also tryed out for the Danzco Dazzlerz Dance Team.  We are waiting patiently for the letter to come by mail with the verdict.  Patience is the key and we don't have any of that in this family.

We are looking forward to a get-a-way this weekend.  Yogi Bear Camping, here we come.

From our family to yours lots of LOVE,

Our "Second" Home
The first couple of camping trips for this year.  We hope to enjoy many, many more.....  A couple of weeks ago we visited an RV park on Lake Livingston with Mom, Dad, Matt and our extended family Dale & Keri.
The following weekend we visited Lake Livingston State Park with Brad, Tricia, Austin, Leah & Garrett.  We had a great time and so did the kiddos.  We are looking forward to a summer full of camping memories with all of our family and friends!

Our Home Away From Home

The kids decided it was warm enough to swim which was not the case at all.  We nearly froze, needless to say, we did not spend much time down at the pool

Taylor playing Cowboy Golf with Matt and Katlyn.

Taylor enjoying the swings at Lake Livingston State Park.

All aboard the Choo, Choo Train...  Katlyn with her cousins enjoying the park.

Katlyn, Leah & Taylor taking a little break and watching Al attempt to catch a Big One.  Katlyn and Leah kept the dust turned up at the camp ground, they never stopped running all day.  I was exhausted just watching them play so hard.  Taylor adores these girls and wanted to be a part of everything they did.

Spring Break

Wow!  Where do I begin...  We have had a busy couple of weeks.  Katlyn was on Spring Break last week and we did lots of fun stuff.  Monday and Tuesday we did a little shopping with Memaw and Matthew.

Let the fun begin, Al was able to take a couple of days off from work (well kind of) he is never really off if he has cell phone reception.

Anyhow, we were off to the Rodeo Houston Wednesday.  We spent the whole day at the Livestock Show and ended with a concert staring Miranda Lambert.  It was a long day, but we had a blast.

 Dressed and ready to Rodeo

Katlyn and Whitney milking the fake cow.  As you can see, Katlyn was not interested.

San Antonio here we come.  We had a great time with our girls on our much needed family get away.  Even though it was only for a couple of days we sure did fit alot of fun in.  We visited the Riverwalk, The Alamo, Buckhorn Museum, Guiness Book of World Records, Seaworld, The Natural Bridge Wildlife Park, took a little dirve to Fredericksburg and even made a little time for swimming at the hotel pool.

Buckhorn Museum

Guiness Book of World Records, Katlyn is in the clothes of a 1400 pound man.

Swimming at the hotel, the water was too cold for me but the girls loved it.

Tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street....
This was absolutely awesome.  The whole family enjoyed meeting all the characters from Sesame Streeet.  Taylor was so amazed and excited, she just kept running around and clapping and hugging anyone that would stop long enough for her to get her arms around them.  She didn't eat a bite of her breakfast, it was all about Elmo for her.  As for me, I ate enough for the whole family because I was nervously excited and just kept feeding my nerves.  Al was laughing at me because I was shaking so bad.  I wanted it to be perfect for the girls and it was.  Even though Katlyn is older, she enjoyed seeing her baby sister interact with everyone.

Shamu

Taylor and Daddy checking out the Lorikeet (birds).  Katlyn and I standing clear of all flying objects, neither of us like birds.

Thank you for visiting!  Have a BLESSED day!
